Queen Elizabeth II

Queen Elizabeth was born on April 21, 1926 on 17th Bruton Street in London. Her full name is Elizabeth Alexandra Mary.  Queen Elizabeth II, who is the 32nd granddaughter of Alfred the great, is the current head of the state, and has reigned for over 62 years. She abdicated in her father's favor on December 11, 1936, at which time her father became King George VI, and she became heir presumptive. 

On November 20, 1947 she married Duke of Edinburgh, Philip Mount-Batten and on eyear later in 1948, they had their first child, Prince Charles. 

She then ascended to the throne on February 6, 1952 when she was 25 years old. She was then crowned one year later on June 2, 1953.
